cutting mode

Prepare the wall correctly. Always start laying the pieces from the corners (if any) and from the bottom to the top. In order to correctly place the forms, it is advisable to use a construction level. Also avoid straight vertical joints and alternating cuts and sizes. Apply a layer of mortar to the wall (don’t apply it to surfaces that are too large to keep it from drying out before applying the pieces). In this way we achieve joint drying tensions between the wall and the stone.

Cover the entire back of each piece with mortar and tap the wall, bottom to top, until the piece is resting. Excess mortar should always come out from the top to avoid staining. When removing excess bonding material, avoid staining the surface of the parts. A stone accidentally stained with mortar should be allowed to dry to crumble and lightly on the outside with a plastic bristle brush.

cleaning

To clean the composition and before the mortar dries, gently brush it with a brush or plastic brush (never wire) to remove excess material and clean the face of the stone. Never use a damp or wet brush. It is recommended to carry out maintenance every two years, so it is necessary to use a sealant.

1. Eliminate wall irregularities

Apply a layer of dry mortar to the original wall to remove any irregularities that may be present in the wall.

Before it dries, it is advisable to spread a mesh of mortar over it to achieve better resistance to cracks and cracks.

2. Network coverage

Spread a second layer of mortar with a notched trowel. The shape that the serrated ruler gives the stone, along with the sticky cement, will help it get a better gripping surface. Let it dry for 24 hours before continuing.

3. Remove traces of dust and sand

With plenty of water and a brush, we will clean the natural stone before sticking it to the wall. In this way we will remove dust and sand residues that prevent a tight grip on the wall.

4. Put the plumb

This is the best way for all natural stone pieces to be on the same level.

5. Apply the adhesive tape to the stone piece

To place a piece of stone on the wall, it is important not to apply the adhesive tape directly to the wall.

If this is not the case, then it is necessary to apply it to the same piece of stone, and slightly moisten the wall on which we will put it on for better adhesion.

6. Put the stone with cement glue on the wall

To do this, use a rubber mallet, as it will give the stone the desired level.

Take advantage of unhelpful pieces of stone and use them as a barrier between stone and stone, to give separation between pieces for the sticky adhesive to dry.

7. Use the mortar to fill in the spacers between the stones

To do this, try not to make the dough too liquid and for this not to happen, add enough water to be able to knead.

This way we will get a rustic and sandy finish .

8. Removal of joint slurry residue

To do this, use a clean sponge together. But you should wait until the mortar is completely dry. Wet the sponge with water in a bucket and remove the slurry residue.

9. Remove mortar stains on stones

Use a cement remover for this, dilute it with water if the manufacturer’s instructions require it.

Get a hard-bristle brush to clean the stone from mortar residue that could not previously be removed with a sponge.

10. Application of facade waterproofing on stones

This is very important as it will help prevent future stains, algae and fungi from forming due to moisture. It can be applied with brush or spray gun.
